Right-hand vs left-hand flute

The holes on a bansuri are placed for one hand on top. Most players use the right hand for the lower holes. Our flutes are made right-hand unless you ask for left-hand.

Which one to order

Order right-hand if you are new, if your teacher plays right-hand, or if you are not sure. Order left-hand only if you already play that way. A left-hand flute feels backwards in right-hand hands, and we do not exchange a flute after delivery because the key and the hand were wrong.

A Hindustani middle D and a Carnatic middle D are both supplied right-hand. Tell us on the contact page or by WhatsApp before you order if you need left-hand, and name the scale. More answers are in the FAQ.
